VSC Meeting, April 2022
Sunday, April 10th 2022, at 2pm EDT / 8pm CEST
Join our April meeting! Again, we will have two inspiring talks for you. You can discover world maps with a third dimension and the 3D artist within you! We also continue our new “In-Depth-Socializing” series to introduce some of our members. See you there!
3D Trends
holographic.earth, world maps with a third dimension
Juan Irache Duesca
Juan Irache Duesca is going to present world maps with a third dimension. This tiny project was developed to explore how a three dimensional version of Google Maps would work on Looking Glass holographic displays. Its nature made it easy to create additional viewing options (parallel, cross-eye, anaglyph…) for users that do not have such devices. We will explore some of the tech and concepts behind the project.
3D Trends
Create your own Depth of Life
Stuph
Stuph will explain in his talk the concepts of 3D drawings and demistify their complexity. In the meeting, we start simple, and we will draw something together, so that you can start exploring by yourself. Make sure to bring some square marked paper, a ruler, and a fine pen. This will be fun!
Community
In-Depth Socializing
featuring you!
The advantage of a virtual community is that we can gather online, no matter where we’re from. But we don’t have the chance to socialize in person. That’s why we decided to start a new section called „In-Depth Socializing“ to get to know each other a bit better.
Anybody who feels up to it is invited to introduce themselves: When and how did you encounter stereoscopy? What are you most interested in? Taking photos, collecting or discovering new 3D trends? But also: What do you do besides stereoscopy? Who is the person behind the stereo camera?
We’ll prepare a few easy ice breakers to start with and are looking forward to your stories.
