Stereoscopy in the Conceptual Art Practice of Rebecca Hackemann

Rebec­ca Hack­e­mann, PhD

In her talk Dr Rebec­ca Hack­e­mann will look back at her art prac­tice and show her stereo 3‑D work, that con­sists of home made stere­o­scopes in white cube gallery spaces togeth­er with her image text stereo works, as well as two stereo pub­lic art projects. Hack­e­mann has worked using stereo pho­tog­ra­phy since 1994 both in Lon­don Eng­land and the Unit­ed States. Born in Ger­many she has been exhibit­ing her work for three decades. She was Pro­fes­sor of Pho­tog­ra­phy at Kansas State Uni­ver­si­ty and is now retired liv­ing in Palm Springs, Cal­i­for­nia. Her work was exhib­it­ed at Muse­um fuer Pho­togra­phie in Braun­schweig and at Elsa Art Space Ger­many. The talk will be in Eng­lish and will fea­ture anaglyph images.
