Foldable Pantoscope
Details
Aaron Martinet founded a printing and publishing house in 1796. His daughter married Hermenégilde Hautecoeur, who continued the business after Marinet’s retirement. Hermenégilde’s sons, Eugène Hautecoeur and Alfred Hautecoeur, managed the company from 1843 to 1867, after which the business was divided.
Alfred Hautecoeur continued the publishing house under the name A. Hautecoeur, Ancienne Maison Martinet. The company published stereoviews and distributed stereoscopes, primarily graphoscopes. These viewers sometimes carry a nameplate or bear the initials A. H.
