Subject and Association DescriptionThe Stéréoscope Systeme Jahnholtz was likely the first hand-held multi-view stereoscope for glass stereoviews. The instrument was named after its designer, Jahnholtz. The viewer was not included in the catalogues of Jules Richard, and it is unclear whether the device existed only as a limited number of prototypes or was produced on any meaningful scale.
