We’re look­ing for­ward to a pre­sen­ta­tion by Lawrence Kauf­mann about 3D Com­ic books fol­lowed by a short note about the new Vir­tu­al Stereo­scop­ic Muse­um and shar­ing ideas for future gal­leries fea­tur­ing images from our VSC community.

Final­ly, we are going to enjoy a Com­mu­ni­ty Slideshow: Sum­mer­time. Pre­pare your sun glass­es and a cool drink!

History

A Short History of ‘Golden Age’ 3D Comic Books

Lawrence Kauf­man

3D his­to­ri­an, pho­tog­ra­ph­er and author Lawrence Kauf­man has been study­ing and col­lect­ing 3D com­ic books since 1971. He has writ­ten a short his­to­ry of the ‚Gold­en Age‘ 3D com­ic books for the forth­com­ing book „The Great Gold­en Age of 3D Comics.“ Using his short his­to­ry as a launch­ing off point, he will take indi­vid­u­als back to the dawn of 3D com­ic books, when any­thing was pos­si­ble with a pair of 3D glasses.

Let’s cel­e­brate the sea­son in 3D! Our next VSC com­mu­ni­ty slideshow will take place on Sep­tem­ber 6th, with the theme “Sum­mer­time.”

Share up to two stereo images inspired by sum­mer — from sun­ny land­scapes and out­door adven­tures to warm evenings, hol­i­days, nature, or those lit­tle moments that cap­ture the feel­ing of the season.
