VSC Meeting, May 2026

Sunday, May 10th at 2:00 pm EDT / 8:00 pm CEST

We’re back! Join us for our next VSC meeting on May 10th, and prepare to be inspired. This month we have two wonderful presentations in store: Colleen Woolpert invites us on a personal journey through 25 years of stereoscopy, and Nancy Nehring shares her fascinating research into the art of the French stereo tissue — and how you can make one yourself. Whether you’re a seasoned stereo enthusiast or simply curious, there’s something for everyone. We look forward to seeing you there!

Mission: Twin Studies

Colleen Woolpert

Armchair travelers! Join me on a rambling, experimental trip through 25 years of stereoscopy. We’ll launch in 2001 from Holmes Stereoscope; rendezvous with Sputnik; and touch down on Stereograph, TwinScope Viewer, ChaCha, and Twin Rig. In anaglyph, we’ll meet my twin sister before returning to the Kalamazoo Antiques Market in 2026. Some instruction provided and all expenses paid, but don’t forget your specs.

History

Creating a Stereo Tissue

Nancy Nehring

Nancy Nehring was so fascinated by the optics of French tissues she wanted to know how they were made. And she wanted to make one herself. She’ll tell you about her research into how the original French tissues were made and how she adapted what she learned to create modern stereo tissues. Making a stereo tissue is easy enough you can make your own using a few tricks Nancy will share with you.
