Convex Mirror ‘Miroir à socle, 14x20, Noir gravé’

Auguste Wytenhove was a French manufacturer of stereoscopes. His 1894–1895 catalogue offered a broad range of stereoscopes and related viewing devices. In 1897, the business was taken over by his son, Gustave.
In 1898, Wytenhove’s company was acquired by Louis Legendre. Legendre’s business was subsequently acquired by Mattey in 1902. The origins of Mattey’s stereoscope activities can therefore be traced back to Wytenhove. Wytenhove introduced the 8 & 9 trademark, which was later continued by Mattey.
