Boxed set of 200 WWI stereo views and stereoscope

In the decades preceding World War I, stereoscopic photography experienced a major revival in France. As a result, many soldiers took their stereo cameras to the trenches. They recorded daily life at the front, but also the extensive destruction and the harsh realities of the war. During the conflict, publishers began issuing and distributing the first stereoviews. In the 1920s, the sale of stereoviews depicting the war reached its peak.
